Grizzlies of Alaska
Reference studies
Whilst studying and making my sketches of the bear I found that when drawing I related some shapes to a human which made me far more confident when drawing. Also the bears necks isn't as prominent as a human's neck instead it seems to blend in with the heavily layered body. Most of the weight is on the front paws when in neutral position which effect the way the creature walk making every move fairly heavy. However when the bear stands on its hind legs the weigh is shifted on the legs and back, then the arms and head become the balance point of the body.
I will transfer these sketches and mechanics onto my Horned Bear character to hopefully create an interesting and cute character.
