The Art of Alice Madness Returns

Whilst researching I stumbled across this video game concept art book. I have never played this game so I thought I would look at the art work first before playing the game to see if the concepts portrays the characters, theme and story well.

This art book is presented extremely well and is very clear on what its portraying. I really like the way they have combined digital painting with character concepts and environments. The only negative criticism I have is that I'm not fond of the front cover as it looks to busy and cluttered to me.

The game and art work is based on the well known story Alice in Wonderland however this time around the story has a twist. Alice is actually returning to Wonderland which appears to be more gruesome and twisted. I plan to play the game and give a better review on the artwork as i have something to compare it with.
